What is the Eucharist Project?
The Eucharist Project seeks to promote a greater knowledge of and love for the Eucharist as the central sacrament of the Catholic Church. It focuses on a scholarly level by providing theological materials in an open-source format so that students of all kinds and levels may profit from the work of the Project.
The centerpiece of the Project is the collection of texts on this website. Here you will find all the eucharistic texts of the ancient church fathers from the first to the eighth century in a facing page format with Greek or Latin on the left (verso) paired an English translation on the right (recto) This enormous task is always a work in progress and so we solicit the help of our users if they find deficiencies in the texts available.
Some of the team members of the Eucharist Project and its associated scholars are actively engaged in their own research on the sacrament of the Eucharist. Their research may be historical, systematic, pastoral, or devotional but they all touch on the importance of the Eucharist in some way or another. You may search for the writings of each scholar on the web if you wish to read what they have written. While most are teachers of theology and very busy in their daily lives, they are all very happy to hear from fellow travelers. We encourage you to roam around our website to learn more.
